Based on the South China Sea（SCS）and adjacent tropical ocean, and emphasized the Marine environmental dynamic process research, LTO’s focus is on South China Sea（SCS） Circulation and Meso- & Small-Scale Physical Processes Regional Climate Research, Tropical Ocean-Air Processes and Climate Effects, Environmental Effects of Physical Processes in the Tropical Ocean, etc. Our ultimate goals are to strengthen the development and utilization of observation technology of oceans, to promote the theory and application levels of tropical oceanographic research, to satisfy the unmet needs of China, and to provide the necessary support for “The Belt and Road Initiative” Policy and the construction of “Maritime Silk Road in twenty-first Century”.
