Application guide for domestic visiting scholars and open topics in 2019

State key laboratory of tropical Marine environment (south China sea institute of academy of sciences) (hereinafter referred to as "LTO") is based on the south China sea, facing the tropical ocean, adjacent to the Marine environment dynamic process as the main line, focuses on the circulation of the south China sea to small and medium scale dynamic process, the tropical oceans - atmosphere and climate effect and environmental effect of tropical Marine dynamic process key scientific problems, such as strengthening Marine observation technology research and development and application of open foundation research institutions.LTO implements the operating mechanism of "openness, mobility, association and competition";Currently, there is a research team of tropical Marine environmental dynamics with young and middle-aged people as the backbone and the combination of old, middle-aged and young people.The laboratory has abundant routine and remote sensing observation data of ocean, atmosphere, environment, ecology and other aspects, and is equipped with advanced computer and network resources, providing good scientific research conditions for open subject research.

Applications for the LTO2019 open fund project started on March 1, and the deadline is April 30.The application for domestic visiting scholars established by the winners of the open fund will be launched at the same time.According to the positioning and scientific objectives of LTO, the research directions of this year's open project are set as follows:

1. South China sea circulation and its spatio-temporal evolution characteristics

2. Mesoscale and small-scale dynamic processes in the south China sea and their interactions with circulation

Indian Ocean - ocean dynamic process

4. Sea-air interaction in tropical regions

5. Characteristics and evolution of the ecological environment in the south China sea and its adjacent waters

6. Coupling mechanism of physicochemical and biological processes at medium and small scales in tropical oceans

7. New technologies and methods for monitoring Marine environmental factors
