目前的研究方向包括(1)海洋水色遥感反演算法;(2)海洋中小尺度物理-化学-生物耦合过程的遥感分析。
主要从事海洋遥感信息提取、海洋中小尺度动力过程及其生态环境效应等方面的研究。在海洋遥感信息反演方面,发展了多种基于人工智能与深度学习的海洋水色遥感反演算法。在海洋中小尺度动力过程及其生态环境效应方面,提出了副热带流涡区涡旋影响叶绿素分布的新机制,系统揭示了南海涡旋的特征、结构、热盐输运与生态效应。主持完成十多项科研课题,培养硕士、博士研究生十多名,发表论文70多篇,其中SCI论文50多篇。获得广东省科学技术奖(自然科学类)一等奖(2012年度)和中国科学院优秀导师奖(2018年度)等奖项。
